Greenbit Energy

Firm power first.
Renewables on top.

A site that operates around the clock needs reliable power. Our own biogas plants, gas generation and battery storage provide the foundation. Wind and solar are added where they reduce fuel use and energy costs.

The biogas plant, gas generation and battery storage work together to keep the site running around the clock. Wind and solar contribute power when conditions allow.

What we built in Estonia

Sikassaare energy centre

On the island of Saaremaa, the Sikassaare energy centre integrates local fuel production, power generation and storage into one coordinated system. Dairy farming and biomass supply feedstock for the Tahula biogas plant, which produces biomethane (RNG) for the CHP plant. Battery storage, wind and solar complete the system.

The CHP plant and battery storage work together to maintain a stable power supply. Wind and solar reduce gas consumption when conditions allow. The on-site data center provides a flexible electrical load that can be managed alongside generation and storage.

Sikassaare energy centre at night

Gas engines running on biomethane (RNG) produce electricity and heat at the same time, whenever the system needs it. The heat supports the Kuressaare district heating network.

Local agricultural resources become renewable fuel

The Tahula biogas plant is a core part of the Sikassaare energy centre. It converts agricultural feedstock into biogas, which is then upgraded to biomethane (RNG), linking local agriculture with renewable energy production.

The energy centre connects dairy farming, biomass production and biogas processing in one local value chain, turning agricultural by-products into fuel, electricity and useful heat.

In the United States

What a U.S. site needs

Our experience in Estonia guides our development in the United States. Each site starts with biogas plants producing RNG, generators converting the fuel into electricity and heat, plus battery storage. Wind and solar are added where they reduce fuel use and energy costs.

Foundation

Biogas plant

Turns local farm feedstock into renewable biomethane (RNG), providing the site with its own fuel that can be stored and used whenever power and heat are needed.

Foundation

Gas generation

Provides dispatchable power whenever the site needs it, day or night and in any weather. It runs on RNG from our own biogas plants or on natural gas, with heat recovered for use on site or nearby.

Foundation

Battery storage

Responds within moments to rapid changes in demand, bridges short supply gaps and keeps the site within its grid connection limits.

Add-on

Wind & solar

Added where site conditions and grid capacity allow. They reduce fuel use and energy costs, while the site’s core systems keep it running when wind and solar are unavailable.

Power the site can count on, with renewables where they add value.
